UMM... WHAT IS THAT?!?!

We are going to have a baby! This is just a crazy concept. The reality of it has not sunk in yet. I think Tim is a little more used to the idea than I am.

A few weeks back I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. Honestly, I was curious to know what was going on with my body but didn't really think I was pregnant despite my apprehension I had to make sure anyway. It was no shock to see the digital test pop up saying, "not pregnant". About a week later on Oct. 19th Tim convinced me to take another test and again I waited for the "not pregnant" to appear. I remember telling Tim "man this is taking a lot longer to appear than last time". Before I could even see the results I heard Tim yell "UMM WHAT IS THAT?!?!?" and then begin pacing the house hysterically laughing. I saw that the test read loud and clear "PREGNANT". My response was much different than Tims. I didn't really laugh I just stood there in awe trying to soak it all it.

I have had two doctors appointments as of now. The first simply confirmed the pregnancy with a blood test. The second was last Friday and again we confirmed pregnancy, I got a flu shot, sent me in for all kinds of blood work and we scheduled the next appointment for Nov. 29th. I cannot wait until we go back. The next appointment we will actually get to hear the baby's' heartbeat. I am hoping that will make things a bit more real for me.

We told Tims parents over skype by showing them sign that read, "how does Nana and Papa X2 sound?". They are already a Nana and Papa to our niece so we thought the sign made perfect sense. Guess it was a little confusing. Tims dad picked up on it a bit quicker than his mom but the reaction was great and it was so exciting to share with his family. For my family we showed up at their door step (unfortunately they werent home) with the excuse we were there to see my childhood dog one last time before they had to put her down. After the initial shock of seeing us was over we decided to tell them the news. My dad said he had an idea we were there for other reasons than the dog but didn't pinpoint it. My mom and siblings had no idea and were more than shocked.

Can I just complain about one thing? I will try not to do this often but I notice myself getting really irritated with some people and their judgmental attitudes. The first doctors appointment the nurse asked if my father was paying the bill. REALLY?!?! It was not an insult to Tim because she hadn't seen him yet but rather that I still look like a child. She could not believe that I am old enough to be married let alone be pregnant. So I let that slide and laughed it off. Moving on to the next appointment. The woman explained to me that I could fill out the form for my parents to get any information if I wanted them to even though my husband was standing by my side. So again people simply ignore the rings on my finger and assume I am a young child. It only got worse though. The nurse came to get me and honestly, she was so uptight and treated me with a bit disrespect. It was amazing to see her attitude change when she read my paperwork and saw that I am married and 22 years old. She even commented on it. It is pretty disgusting to me to think that even those in a professional setting are so judgmental. I guess I better get used to the judgmental darts of the eyes and comments about teenage pregnancy because as I begin to show I am sure they will increase.

I know this is a long post but I what can I say other than my mind is full of so many different thoughts right no that I had to share.
